Agumbe
If you want to enjoy nature in its elements, Agumbe is the place. The sudden nip in the air, the fresh breeze and the green you see all about you; you realize that you are closer to your destination. Travelling through the winding paths created by man through the Ghats is an experience of its own. As you are enjoying the charming, scenic beauty of the climb, you are brought out of the shadows of the Ghats into the open. Finally! It was the one thing you always wanted to see, 'Sunset at Agumbe'! Glued to your spot watching the sun sink slowly into the Arabian Sea, you would wish it happened more often. The place holds a lot of promise for the trekkers, nature lovers, photographers and the adventurous. Trekking through the dense forest – the path is wet and slippery reminding you that you are in the rain forest region – you could end up encountering the black lion tailed Macaque (a species of Monkeys) or the white Bison. Agumbe is also the wettest place in South India.
